Kurdamir – the giant oil discovery made by Western ZAGROS coupled with aggressive exploration and appraisal programmes determined WesternZAGROS to emerge as a leading Kurdistan focused independent oil company.


Gazprom Neft was awarded its third licence in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq: 80% of the Halabja block with estimate reserves ranging between 630 and 790 million barrels of oil, in addition to existing projects including 40$ of the Garmian block and 40$ and 80% in the Shakal block.


Chevron, the US super major, acquired operating interests in two production sharing contracts in the Rovi and Sarta blocks of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since 2012.


ExxonMobil signed production sharing contracts for six blocks in 2011.
