Where Ground-breaking Industry News & Major Projects Updates are Announced First

The Kurdistan-Iraq Oil & Gas Conference has been a key factor in driving economic success across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Since uniting the international oil and gas industry and the Kurdistan and Iraq Regional Governments for the first time 6 years ago, the Conference has grown to become an established and internationally renowned platform for the Kurdistan Region’s oil and gas industry.

Growing in Ministry and industry support year on year, the annual Conference is recognised as an essential gateway for any company looking to enter and establish themselves in Kurdistan’s unexplored and thriving oil and gas sector.

2016 Conference Highlights

The 6th edition of Kurdistan’s major annual Conference for the Oil & Gas Industry took place on 5-7 December 2016 at the Hilton Park Lane, London. Welcoming over 300 delegates, the event was a great success highlighting how the Region is embarking on a huge development for its oil and gas industry by establishing strong partnerships with the industry and thus increasing knowledge transfer.

The Conference emphasized the Region’s commitment to dealing with challenges and the lively discussions focused on finding innovative solutions during challenging economic times in areas such as gas processing, electricity, financial transparency and infrastructure security.

We hope to see you again in 2017! The next edition of the Kurdistan-Iraq Oil & Gas Conference will take place in December 2017.

  • Said international independent audit of oil and gas will increase citizen engagement

KRG Minister of Natural Resources Ashti Hawrami:

  • Announced 20 blocks will be open for bidding in 2017 with contract terms focused on continued win-win.

  • Thanked the international oil companies for their commitment to Kurdistan and said that KRG would continue to make payments. “We are honouring payments to international oil companies despite the Kirkuk oil halt and IS attacks, which had two months’ impact… if companies feel that they are getting paid late, please remember that our revenues also pay our Peshmerga forces.”
  • Said KRG seeks investors in petrochemical plants in technologies that can use partially processed gas
